It does not have enough interesting pictures. My daughter glanced at it and didn't want to have anything to do with it. Very disappointed.

I am a science educator. Astronomy and space exploration are one of my areas of special focus. I recently ordered and reviewed about twenty books on this subject before donating them to area libraries. This book is the best of the best - thorough, up to date, well illustrated, and easy to read and understand without "talking down" to kids.

It is a good book.

We were watching TV one time and a clip showed about planets and outer space and was talking about it so I knew he had interest in them so I looked for a book about planets. And so far this is the best book that I found in terms of value and its substance which I got from reading the reviews. And we got this book my son loves it. It is easy to comprehend and fun to read. I like the graphics. My son who is 4 years old now memorize the solar system and is familiar on how it works. Since we got it, we still read it everyday. Next time I'll get him a solar sytem toy.

My 3 yr old DS loves this book. He can't read it but it is very lightweight and he carries it around calling it his planet book. It has all the planets he recognizes. My DS can recognize and name all the planets in order and talks about their attributes. I like it because the photos are accurate unlike some illustrated books on planets. If he is going to remember facts about our solar system at least they can be accurate ones. Finally this is really like a supplement book to a more simple easy to read book he has at home. It is way to difficult for a toddler to understand without adult help.

Great book for kids to learn about the planets!!! Also even has the dwarf planets and very educational facts about the planets too! Great for a child 5-7 years old. Great pictures and easy to follow along. Book even tries to be funny! I would recommend Planets!

I bought this for a 10 year old, good reader. I think it was a little to young for him, but it does supply basic facts about the solar system.I bought it to go along with the solar system globe/paperweight.

The best series ever for young readers. It is very hard to find books for young readers that are based on the natural world. The photos are beautiful, the storyline is full of accurate, interesting, scientific facts about the subject, and has a vocabulary building review at the back of the book. And each book in this series has several upside down jokes that reference the subject, an added point of interest for Montessori and all children. BTW, I have gotten more than 30 of these titles for my classroom. Highly recommended!

My daughter loves this book, she is 3 1/2, I can tell it's a book she will have interest in for a few years for sure, I'm surprised she can pay attention so well but she really loves planets!
