I have read every book in the Galaxy's Edge series. I have enjoyed all them. This action packed story mainly follows two points in the Legion and their team as they struggle to survive in the jungle fighting doros all the way. In addition to all of the action, this a character driven story that brought tears to my eyes. I can hardly wait for 'Iron Wolves'!

An amazing story definitely worth reading. Part of the Galaxy’s Edge universe that can be read as a stand-alone without having read any of the other books.Order of the Centurion is the first book and a series of upcoming stand-alones in the Galaxy’s Edge universe (according to the authors) focusing on the stories leading up to the award of the Order of the Centurion medal – a Legion medal awarded to those demonstrating the highest level of bravery and sacrifice and most often awarded posthumously.This first entry tells the story of a House of Reason political appointee to the Legion named Washam. Washam is different from other "points" in that he actually wants to be a real legionnaire – not just someone using military service as a political stepping stone. Washam appears in the main series that happens much later in the Galaxy’s Edge timeline. This is an origin story. And it’s great. While not necessary to understanding the main series, the background provided just gives that much more life to the whole. You will find just as much depth to the characters here as you do in the other books. And just like the other books, Order of the Centurion is loaded with action.If you’ve enjoyed the Galaxy’s Edge series, this one is not to be missed. If you haven’t read any of the books yet, this one is not a bad choice as a first entry to the series.

Let alone two of them!!!! I should dock you guys a star for doing this. I never expected to come out of this book thinking this might be the best one of the GE books so far. I really liked the different perspective of this book. We have been shown short bits of how this universe impacts the "little people" (non-Legion), but this book puts us right in amongst a mostly non-Legion cast of characters. It is a great stand-alone book, or as another great fleshing out of this magnificent Universe. These guys are not doing anything to let their fans down, as they keep pushing the quality of the stories even more.

I was a fan of the Galaxy's Edge books from the first one released, but Anspach and Cole blow the lid off of my legion love with "Order of the Centurion". Military sci-fi that nails combat, human emotion, the desire to earn respect, fight for the brothers/sisters beside you - it was impossible to put down this book. I felt this story dove deeper into the bonds of friendship than previous books in this Galactic World and it reached me in a way that was real and relatable. This is an amazing ride of an adventure story as well and I respect the authors for presenting a tale that didn't need a bunch of trash language or ridiculous political correctness to be amazing. Can not wait for more and applaud this new storyline. (No spoiler, but you're going to find it hard not to respect Wash and how he goes above and beyond as the newest great character)

This was a heck of a story, kinda reminded me of the classic WW2 and Vietnam movies with actors like John Wayne and Peter Fonda. It is a good setup for a side character mentioned in the main series, and some fleshing out of characters in more branches of the military (marines and basics especially). The end has quite a few moments that hit you right in the feels, just like those classic old war movies. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes those.

The entire series is well written. This latest installment is no different. It was great to see Lieutenant Washam's back story on Psydon. I really like how the authors tie together characters across different books and major events with the Galaxy's Edge universe. For young readers the story is clean (no profanity) and the the hero's in the story are worth rooting for. This book explains how one of the first "Points" became a real Legionnaire and provides insights to his role during the fall of the House of Reason. Can't wait for more back story books and others that are within the Galaxy's Edge universe. .

Actually, I'm pretty sure it's not "maybe." The whole series has good-to-excellent characterization, but this one has the most fully realized characters in the series. Characters that would have been cardboard cutouts in lesser hands are three-dimensional and sympathetic, while the action and pace remain top-notch. In addition, the Republic Marines and even the Army get some welcome recognition, making you think maybe the Republic was something actually worth saving. This book could stand every bit as well as an introduction to Galaxy's Edge for a new reader as Legionnaire does.

Get past the first chapter, because when you see who this book is about you might think: “Really? Him?”It is such a great story and near the middle I was thinking: “Do we get another book with wash?” I think it would be pretty awesome and could fill in so much more backstory of the rise of the house of reason.But, it stands on its own and was a great read.Looking forward to what the authors give us next!!
