If you have never read a manga before, now is your chance! This is the same quality manga that you can find in bookstores. I always love the additional side notes that are included in the beginning and end of the book, which sometimes go over some history, grammar, and Japanese honorifics that are commonly said throughout the manga. There is often more to the story that is left out in anime, so if you became a fairy tail fan from watching the anime, and want to get more out of the story, you definitely should read the mangas. If you are curious as to why there is a hype at all about manga, just give it a shot. My husband really loved the anime, so I thought I'd let him read the manga. If you like comics, this may also be another great way for you to try something new. Although it's hard to really see the plot in the first manga, the story has a fantastic plot. If you're not a reader, then try watching the anime(Japanese animation) at least!
Amazing manga and came like new. It was wonderful reading it! Definitely worth a try to read it. A manga is read in the Traditional Japanese Way which means it’s read from the “back†to the “front†and inside the book, you read from right to left. Not left to right:
Hiro Mashima's action packed story continues in volume 3. In this volume, our heroes try to stop a band of evil wizards from killing people with an evil flute of death. Mashima has created an interesting world with its own set of rules. One is the concept of the relationship between a summoner and the entity summoned, they create a contract. In a humorous twist, a character from volume 2, Virgo returns. There is also a very funny moment early on when Erza changes her armor, she looks like she's going to strip, and all of her enemies have hearts in their eyes; it's hilarious. Mashima also includes funny notes at the end of his manga, volume two had a hilarious "floor plan" on his studio. In volume 3 he includes a page of nice early art designs as well as a solicitation for fan art! Highly recommended.
My 13 year old loves Fairy Tale and was very excited to get this book as they love the artwork.
I am a HUGE fan of Fairy Tail, it is the reason why I am so into anime and manga now. I love this series and hope to one day collect all 50+ of them when I can because I just absolutely love the action, comedy, and some of that romance tease that it has. I would definitely recommend if you are into any of those things as well as magic which is pretty cool. Just an overall awesome series.
Fairy Tail starts out strong and keeps it going! I love the characters, Grey especially. If you've seen the anime that was adapted from this manga then you already know what happens in each chapter because the anime stayed VERY true to the original. But it's still a great read whether you've seen the anime or not. I personally plan to collect all the volumes one day.
One of my favorite manga. My first vol of the series too. Funny and tons of actions. Good art work and nice story plot. If you are a fan of the anime then I am sure you will love the manga even more. Anyway, I am planing to get all of this series Vol.
Gift for the granddaughter and she is thrilled.
